Textual Materiality in AC: The "Text Puzzle"

These are three in a series of some six or so parchment scraps to be found in-game,
as prophetic clues to the events of the Hopeslayer events, and the months following.
Here the "physical" materiality of the text is explored, such that
no single text of these three will have any coherent meaning.
Once all are assembled, of course, the images are meant to be overlaid upon each other,
forming the entire message. In this case, the first line would read:
"In the midst of a terrible fever I had this dream."
Clever design elements such as this (of which there are many to be found in Asheron's Call)
force the player not only to seek out the entire collection of texts, but to engage the
writing itself, pondering the pages as physical pages, rather than merely the
text they contain. In this way, the parchments themselves become an element of immersion.
Cybertext within a form of cybertext? Perhaps.
